Flower Canvas Commission

Client: Private commission

The Brief

I was approached by a private client to create a bespoke floral painting as a special gift for a family member. During our consultation, I learned about the recipient’s love of Victorian artwork and their beautiful home, where the painting would eventually sit.

Together, we visited Zuzu’s, a local Brooklyn florist, to choose the flowers. The client wanted a sunset-inspired colour scheme to compliment a dark teal background, featuring flowers that would feel familiar and meaningful to the recipient.

We selected a vibrant, multi-coloured chrysanthemum, a familiar rose, a dark peony for contrast, and snapdragons to bring movement and tie the artwork together. I also included a honey bee, which held special meaning for the client.

This commission was highly personal, it was an act of love from one person to another that I was thrilled to help bring to life.

This painting was gifted, and the client kindly letting me know that the recipient had loved it, and that they had spent time together choosing the ideal place for it in her home.
