Hand-painted window mural on The Bowery, Manhattan

Client: 5WPR & Dogfish Head

I was approached by 5WPR to create a hand-painted window mural for a Dogfish Head pop-up bar on The Bowery in Manhattan. Known for supporting local artists and celebrating the handcrafted nature of their brand, Dogfish wanted a storefront installation that would feel bold, artistic, and instantly recognizable from the street.

Drawing inspiration from Dogfish’s existing beer can artwork, I created a custom hand-painted storefront window design tailored to the architecture of the building. The goal was to transform the exterior into an eye-catching public artwork that would stop passersby, build curiosity, and announce the pop-up event to the busy Bowery neighborhood.

The installation took three days to complete, during which the live painting process drew in passerbys. People stopped to watch, ask questions, and engage with the space as the mural developed, helping generate excitement and foot traffic before the pop-up officially opened.

The entire storefront mural was hand-painted in reverse on the interior side of the glass using high quality latex paint, creating a vibrant design visible from the street.
