Portrait mural of Dolly Parton for Washington Walls

The Brief

Earlier in the year, I had the pleasure to create this vibrant bird mural as part of the artist collective Washington Walls. This time around, the theme was nostalgia. I had expressed wanting to paint a large scale portrait; and when the curator Jeff suggested Dolly Parton it felt meant to be. 9 to 5 was always my karaoke song and I would be thrilled to make a tribute to such a legend.

I created a unique design, combining Dolly’s feminine colors like pink and baby blue with the smoky mountains, alongside bringing in some silver leaf for that special sparkle!

The mural was extremely well received in the neighborhood.
